Valentine’s Day Love Nest
Valentine’s Day has been celebrated for decades and we see all the usual Valentine production – dinner dates, flowers, chocolates, presents, proposals, orchestra the works! If you want to try something else, this one might not exactly be a brand new idea that will earn you the copyright to call it your own (I’m writing about it, aren’t I?), but it will spark your Valentine’s Day quite differently than the expected. Here goes – celebrate your Valentine’s Day at home with production and the works!
Adorning your home sweet home with Valentine’s Day decors is a nice idea. Decorations aren’t only for the department stores. Make yours different though. Spice it up with sensuality instead of the usual wholesome decors we see outdoors. Decorate with things that exude romance with fire. Go for sensuous aromas (sexy!), deep colors (romantic!) and satin and silk fabrics (need I say more?).
Satins and silks are commonly associated with love and romance. These fabrics have such an amazing texture and feel so good on the skin that feeling all lovey-dovey has never been more wonderful. Satin sheets are great for sleeping on but they’re also nice to use as a picnic spread that you can set out for your home-cooked Valentine’s Day dinner. Snuggling after a delicious meal is real yummy.
Colors are reflections of feelings, and we never see more colors than on occasions like Valentine’s Day. Red is ubiquitous on this heart’s day but other deep colors in purples and pinks also show love in the air. Make use of these colors in your home decorations.
The sense of smell is an emotional attachment. Don’t you remember a person just by a sniff of his perfume in the air? Don’t you recall a memory just by a smell that reminds you of a romantic dinner or a walk in the park in the full bloom of spring? Don’t you miss a certain dish just by its aroma? All these are indicative of a powerful sense that can have an impact on your amorous night. If you want something unforgettable to set off the mood, use chocolate as a device. Melt some in a pot for a delicious smell. If you prefer something crisp and nature-inspired, fresh flowers will do the job. Scented candles also come in various fragrances. Choose any that reflects your mood.
Isn’t it a bummer that Valentine’s Day is at the height of winter? Unless you’re in a tropical island, cozy late night walks under the stars will remain a dream. On a brighter note, this season calls for a lot of snuggling, hugging and kissing. Make the most of it by turning down the heater and let the fireplace be your guardian. Keeping each other warm can never be more exciting.
Valentine’s Day is much more than the presents. The effort that goes with making the day special is what counts. Creating loving memories, especially in your home will bring you more smiles in the years to come. Don’t limit yourself to sensual home decors for Valentine’s Day or anniversaries only. If you can, make each day a sensual, romantic day just like Valentine’s Day. Who cares if it’s always February– in your house calendar? I don’t.
Lucky for you decorating with rugs has been made so much easier with these heart shaped colored rugs.
